Emerald Empire Detachment #917, Marine Corps League, POTLUCK PICNIC – 15 August 2026

WHO:  The Emerald Empire Detachment #917, Marine Corps League invites all league members, family/kids, Young Marines, Marines, FMF Corpsmen, FMF Chaplains, Marine Corps Reservists & Marine Corps Inspector and Instructor Staff.

WHAT:  A potluck picnic with the Emerald Empire Detachment #917, Marine Corps League.

WHEN:  15 August 2026 (Saturday); Start Time: 12:30 PM – 3:30 PM.

WHERE:  Shelter B, Lively Park (6100 Thurston Road, Springfield, Oregon).

WHY:  Camaraderie, brotherhood, and social interaction.

DETAILS:   This will be a potluck picnic with the Marine Corps League providing the hamburgers, hot dogs, buns, condiments, plates, napkins, salt/pepper, and cups.  Those attending are asked to bring a side dish or a dessert.  Bring your own non-alcoholic drinks.

Right now, the number of attendees is unknown.

There is a playground for kids, room to throw Frisbees or play catch, and an indoor pool for any who want to swim (fees to be paid by the individuals).

The two striking pavilions at Lively Park offer electric cook-tops, gas grills, food prep areas, and seating for up to 150 people. Lively Park also features lush green lawns, restrooms, parking, and a large playground, making it popular for celebrations, company picnics, and family gatherings.
